The age of the bird affects both the size and weight of the eggs produced, when the hens begin to lay eggs, more than 80% of the eggs laid weigh less than 49 g, where these eggs are known as herald eggs, then the weight of the eggs gradually increases until the age of the birds reaches about 12-14 months, then after that age a relative decrease in size occurs.
